Hear the heralds cry across the land!
As winter’s icy grip begins to fade and the promise of spring stirs once more, the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael warmly invites one and all to gather for The Festival of the Passing of the Ice Dragon — a grand celebration of skill, valor, creativity, and camaraderie.
Cast aside thy winter’s cloak and join us as we mark the turning of the seasons with tournaments of arms, displays of artistry, and the joy of shared fellowship. Let the songs of bards and the laughter of friends ring through the hall as we welcome the dawn of spring together.
Highlights of the Festival
– A&S Pentathlon: Marvel at the works of artisans from across Æthelmearc! Entrants will present their finest creations in this prestigious competition of craftsmanship and creativity. Whether you are an entrant or an admirer, come be inspired by the beauty and skill of the Society’s artisans.
– Martial Tournaments: Witness the clash of chivalry and honor as heavy and rapier fighters take the field to test their mettle in friendly combat. A viewing gallery will be available (weather permitting), so all may cheer the valiant and celebrate their deeds.
– Bardic Delights: Throughout the day, the hall shall ring with song, story, and laughter as bards share their tales and tunes. Warm your heart with performances both stirring and merry, and add your own voice to the harmony if you so wish!
– Merchants’ Row: Peruse the wares of skilled merchants and craftsfolk from across the realm! Discover treasures both practical and wondrous — fine garb, handcrafted jewelry, leatherwork, feast gear, art supplies, and more. Support our artisans and take home a piece of the Dream. Those wishing to merchant at the festival are asked to contact the Merchant Liaison to reserve space, as spots are limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
– Festive Dayboard: A hearty dayboard shall be offered to gladden the belly and warm the spirit. Details of the menu will be proclaimed in due course — but rest assured, no traveler shall go hungry!
– Vigils: Three vigils will be held during the day. Details and times will be announced soon; all are welcome to share their words and well-wishes with the honorees.
– Paladin’s Pantry: In the spirit of charity and good fellowship, all gentles are invited to bring forth offerings of non-perishable sustenance, that they may be bestowed upon those in need within our fair community. Let our generosity shine as brightly as our banners, and may kindness be the truest mark of nobility. As a token of gratitude for such goodwill, each gentle who makes a donation shall receive a ticket for the door prize drawing — a modest boon in recognition of a gracious heart.
