SUMMARY:Garnet and Steel Invitational Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Royal Progress:    \n      \nIn the spirit of encouraging Ceremony\, sparking competition\, and providing an opportunity to for the populace to experience a display of the deep love for Courtesy\, Honor and Kingdom that our rapier community holds dear\, Let it be known that we are sponsoring this Invitational Tournament of the Field of Garnet and Steel. This tournament will take place on September 7th\, 2024 at Hamer Hall on the campus of PennWest California\, at the College of Silva Vulcani. \nPatterned after the 1520 spectacle of the Field of Cloth of Gold\, jointly held by King Francis I and Henry VIII\, shall be an Invitation-only Rapier event with all the panoply\, display and courtesy worthy of the best and brightest of our Rapier community and the Society as a whole. There will be exactly 32 invitations\, and entrance challenge coins\, to be earned by way of Victory or reknown through the year beginning in the spring of 2023 and with a final qualifying tournament at Pennsic 2024. Of those slots\, we have identified some tournaments where victory on that day will earn an invitation\, and there are some few open slots yet where an invitation may be earned. I here encourage anyone: Shires\, Colleges\, Baronies\, Households\, or individuals\, to sponsor a Rapier tournament and reach out to me with a request to be added to that list. If anyone had an inspiration to host a Rapier tournament\, Do it! \nWe encourage everyone to come out and cheer on this spectacle of Martial panache\, with banners and tabards and all manner of pomp as befitting a glorious tournament in honor of expert and courteous discourse of the blade\, and look forward to sharing this afternoon with everyone. \nFor more information about the tourney\, please contact Duke Malcolm MacEoghainn (syrmalcolm@gmail.com) for information about the site\, please contact Gabby Winter — Gabbywinter@gmail.com. \nTake your best route to PennWest University California (Formerly California University of PA) — 250 University Ave.\, California PA 15417 \nWhen you pass the twin towers turn left\, and cross the railroad tracks\, following the river until the next train crossing. DESCRIPTION:Royal Progress:     \n  \nAdditional notes on Wheelchair Accessibility: the campsite shower house has a 5″ step onto the platform.\nAdditional Notes on Alcohol Policy: Greene county is a dry county\, however the venue itself is discreetly damp. No sales permitted\, but gifts and light general consumption on Hookstown fair’s grounds are welcome.\n***There is absolutely no consumption of alcohol permitted in the Grange Hall. However\, Use of cooking spirits is permitted by feast staff.***\nAdditional Notes on Flames: campfires are permitted in campground area\, but must be contained in a closed bottom fire bowl. Please plan to bring one along. No ash in the trash receptacles- proper disposal area will be marked.\nAdditional Notes on Weapons: There are spaces designated for heavy and rapier combat\, Archery\, and thrown weapons.\nAutocrat Notes:\nCampers and equestrian participants bringing horses/ trailers must be preregistered.\n***Update*** Horses must only have a negative coggins. There is no additional paperwork needed\, nor any restrictions by state.\nEquestrian trailers\, once unloaded\, must park in Lot 7\, unless they have living quarters\, in which case they may use the camping facilities. There is NO camping fee for horse trailers parked in lot 7! \nGlorious Aethelmearc\, Rejoice! The time has come to crown our Highnesses\, and In celebration\, we wish to invite our beloved populace to delight in a day with grand displays of Martial prowess\, Equestrian finesse\, delicate arts\, Games to enrich the mind\, and Feasting to celebrate the beginning of the new reign! On September 21\, 2024 Silva Vulcani\, hosted by Steltonwald Invites you to join us at the Hookstown Fairgrounds for the Fall Coronation of Bjarki Rikardarson and Gabrielle de Winter. \nSite fee will be $20 for members and $30 for non-members. Your gate fee includes a delicious Day-board open to all attendees. \nCampsites with access to electricity are available for pre-registered guests at an additional $25 per unit\, per night (limit of 75 tents or trailers.) All campers and Equestrian participants with trailers must be preregistered. \nFeast will also be available for pre-registered guests at an additional cost of $15 and limited to 100 guests. \n***Event schedule***\n10 AM: The Last Court of Murdoch and Rioghnach begins. \n12pm-4:30pm- Heavy and rapier fields open for pickups. Thrown weapons field opens. \n12pm- Archery range opens for championship qualifiers in the Main Arena. \n12:30pm- Coronation chess Tiurnament begins in the Games building \n12:30-4pm- Equestrian champions: mounted presentation of combatants\, followed imminently by tournament start. \n2:30pm- Archery champion combatants are announced- followed imminently by the champions shoot. \n3:00-4:30 pm- Archery range re-opens to the populace. \n4pm- Equestrian joust in the Horse Arena \n5pm- The First Court of Bjarki Ricardarson and Gabrielle De Winter will begin at 5pm\, followed by feast in the Grange Hall with limited seating. \n-Site closes at 10pm.
