Mabon is upon us\, when light and dark find balance with harvest and decay. Our hands are tired from the long\, bountiful summer\, and are ready to revel in a bounty of vibrant talents. The cheerful folk of the Canton on Beau Fleuve invite one and all to join in festivities of fighting\, fencing\, flinging\, firing\, feasting\, filking\, and fabricating at Summer’s End. We hope to hear your stories of triumph\, wonder at your artistry\, and perhaps impart a laugh or two to brighten your winter ahead.\nThe site will have plenty of open space if you wish to bring a pop-up or a pavilion.\nThis year’s event will be held at the Shawnee Firehall\, 3747 Lockport Rd. SUMMARY:The Barony of St. Swithin’s Bog Medieval Demo and Baronial Champs
DESCRIPTION:The Barony of St. Swithin’s Bog will be demonstrating Medieval Activities at The Cambria County Heritage Festival on September 13th & 14th at Duman Lake County Park. Our Baronial Champion Tournaments will be held in conjunction with this Demo on Sunday September 14th. Medieval Demo Activities will include Arts and Science Exhibits\, How-To Classes\, Period Dancing\, Fencing\, Heavy Combat\, Youth Combat\, Thrown Weapons\, & Archery. Youth Combat is open to the public with a signed waiver that will be provided. Loaner gear will also be available. This Demo is FREE both days. \nThe site is discreetly wet and will open on Saturday\, September 13th at 10am and close on Sunday\, September 14th at 6pm to tear down. Set-up will be at 5pm on Friday September 12th. Camping is permitted both Friday and Saturday nights. \nThere will be ample space for camping\, with “Period Looking” Tents in front and the modern ones behind them. Please bring pop-up tents for shade\, folding tables for activities\, and lawn chairs. DESCRIPTION:Royal Progress:   \nThe summer ends and with it the closure of the reign of Murdoch and Rioghnach and the Coronation of their Heirs Andreas and Kallista. Join us for a wonderful Spanish themed weekend event at Camp Louise in the Barony of Endless Hills.\nCamp louise is a mostly outdoor event space but we do have showers and restrooms. The site is rustic and some areas may be difficult for mobility devices\, but we do have accessible restrooms.\nPlease keep in mind that parking is extremely limited and we highly recommend carpooling.\nThere will be limited cabin spaces available. Those in cabins would need to bring all their own bedding.\nFriday evening we would welcome everyone to arrive after 5pm and enjoy campfire Bardic and smores with her Highness!\nSaturday we will have morning court preceeding fencing\, heavy\, and A&s activites\, including dancing. A lovely dayboard will be provided by THL Tufa and feast by Baroness Oddkatla Jonsdottir.\nAdditional details will be forthcoming on the event facebook page.\nSite opens Friday at 5pm\, closes Sunday at noon.\nCamp Louise is located at: RR 3\, Shickshinny\, PA 18655.
