The feast of St. Crispin is upon us and the Barony Marche of the Debatable Lands wishes you to celebrate with us at the Fifteenth Agincourt event! \nAgincourt will be held at Camp Lutherlyn\, 500 Lutherlyn Ln\, Butler\, PA 16001. The site will open at 9:00 a.m. Saturday 28 October 2023 and close at 9:00 p.m. \nAgincourt returns after a one-year hiatus\, and to celebrate its return\, we are asking for a display of arms. The tournament will be an English vs French tournament focusing on the works of George SIlver and Captain Peloquin. Please advise us if you need electricity for CPAP\, as only 1 dormitory has outlet access. \nLocal hotels\nQuite a few hotels can be found along Route 15\, north and south of route 192. \nParking\nParking is limited\, and unpaved\, at the Brown Center; like Sieg Center. This competition will be run throughout the day\, and scoring will be efficiency based (i.e.\, the less arrows fired to retrieve all the caps\, the better). \nCollecting Presents\nOne thing shared by most holidays of this season is the giving of gifts. Fret not! The field is strewn with presents in all shapes and sizes! Throughout the day\, your challenge is to collect as many of these gifts as possible\, by any means necessary. Which\, since we are archers\, means shooting them! While each present is worth 1 point per hit\, the rules for each present change (some are untimed with varying numbers of arrows\, some are timed with various time limits). \nHoliday Tournament\nIn the late afternoon\, the top 4 scorers for each of the all-day shoots will compete in a tournament celebrating holidays from throughout the year. Since an archer could be in the top 4 for both contests\, and because there could be ties for 4th place\, there is no predicting exactly how many people will be in this tournament\, so the exact structure and method of elimination will be determined on location. \nThere will be only a very small sideboard available. As we enter the new year with fresh resolve we should begin now to look towards our biggest event of the year Pennsic. We should hone those skills that we have worked so hard to achieve that make Æthelmearc a known and intimidating force to contend with on all fields of battle. \nAs such\, we here in The Shire of Sterlynge Vayle have begun our prep work. And to that end on the 21st of this month at our local fight practice\, from 2pm to 6pm\, we will be hosting the first Muster of the year. This is not just a Heavy Muster\, this is a MUSTER. So regardless of your calling bring your gear\, enjoy our hospitality and for a couple hours work on your fighting\, fencing\, arts and science. We have class rooms available for the folks working on projects so they\, like those of us in the martial specialties\, can hone their skills\, get input or give advice to others. \nFighters and Fencers.  Bring your gear\, let’s make the most of the time we have been afforded to work on this. \nNext Month another Muster will be announced by another Regional Commander. And so forth and so on\, and in the interim we should not let our weapons fall to disrepair. That’s right\, after a hiatus of our beloved in-person College of Three Ravens\, we enthusiastically invite you all to join us on February 24\, 2024 for our IN PERSON College of Three Ravens\, where our theme is Back to School – A Return to Thescorre’s Traditional Schola ! \nIt promises to be a full day of classes on every imaginable SCA-related subject\, camaraderie as we jostle each other in the halls on our way to those classes\, Arts and Sciences displays\, and even the possibility of an A&S competition. We also are delighted to be able to host bardic and dancing after our feast! \nOh\, and the return of delectable food in the form of a BREAKFAST dayboard and early feast (with room a’plenty for those that want to brown bag it for the first day back to school)! That’s right\, no school day is complete without a well-balanced breakfast – especially when that well-balanced breakfast dayboard is created by Thescorre’s very own Baroness Sadira! And our feast\, which will start at 3:30\, will be led by Baroness Nuzha\, leading young cooks of Thescorre and Aethelmearc to create a meal to tantalize the tastebuds of our attendees! You heard that correctly\, we are celebrating the youth of our fair Sylvan lands and asking them to step into the role of feast cooks! \nOur Chancellor of Classes\, Lady Nicole du Marais will again wrangle all those wanting to teach and create an easy to follow schedule of all the classes that the event has to offer! Dig deep and think of those classes you’ve always wanted to teach! These festivities meant to prepare them for the long days ahead\, tracking the ever elusive and elegant White Hart\, will take place over several days. It will begin on Friday\, March 1st\, A.S. LVIII\, by welcoming travelers from far and wide with some warm and filling food and drink\, and a good night’s rest. Early morning on Saturday\, March 2nd\, the day’s events will begin with a hearty breakfast and lunch intermingled with tournaments and activities for all. A magnificent feast will be had in the evening\, followed by more merriment. On the morning of Sunday\, March 3rd\, we will send forth our hunters until next year. \nThe Lord and Lady of the White Hart\, Lord Samuel of Great Oaks and Lady Fina the Huntress\, would like to invite the Known World to join them in a celebration of rebirth\, adventure\, love\, and chivalry at the Tournament of the White Hart XXIV in the Shire of Port Oasis\, where they will again host a tournament of swords and pageantry and would challenge all comers to display their honor\, their love\, and their arms for all the Known World to see.
