SUMMARY:Myrkfaelinn Equestrian Practice
DESCRIPTION:Myrkfaelinn Equestrian Practice\n10AM to 5PM on Sunday\, August 27th\, 2023\nSheffield Farm\, Ithaca\, NY 14850\nFree; donations appreciated to offset cost of insurance. \nIn preparation for A Day of Tournaments which includes the Kingdom Equestrian Championship (https://aethelmearc.org/event/a-day-of-tournaments/) to be held the weekend of September 8 to 10th\, the Dominion of Myrkfaelinn has organized an Equestrian Practice. It will be held Sunday August 27th\, 2023 at Sheffield Farm near Ithaca\, NY\, and will give equestrian participants the opportunity to authorize in general riding and mounted games. \nMistress Ysabeau Tiercelin is the Marshal in Charge (MiC) and will bring game equipment\, including heads\, reeds\, spear\, rings\, quintain and birja.\nThis way both the equestrian participants as well as the ground crew can familiarize themselves with the equipment before A Day of Tournaments. As there is always a need for Ground Crew\, we very much welcome non-riders to be of service and come train with us in prepapration for the Kingdom Championship. \nThere will be a Barding Petting Zoo for those interested in sewing ‘clothing’ for their horse! \nThe facility includes a polo-sized indoor riding arena as well as an outdoor arena. It has spacious stalls (I have to check if we can use those) and a large viewing floor with full view of the indoor arena. For those interested out side riding\, the site also offers carriage-groomed trails through fields and woods. \nDirections: Sheffield Farm\, 451 Sheffield Road\, Ithaca NY 14850 \nAutocrat: Mistress Cristina inghean Ghriogair (Donna Ankrum) 107 oak Hill Road\, Ithaca NY\, 14850. We are still looking for people to train and help out with the ground crew. \nThere will be NO traditional day board. But we plan to order pizza from fast track. Please place your order by 8/24. Pizzas are unlimited toppings for11.99 plus tax ( $ 13.00) You can pay at troll when you sign in. \ntentative Schedule \n10 am Site/Troll opens ( pay for pizza order and sign wavers) small donation to cover site and insurance is appreciated \n11 am Horse activities : authorizations\, games and other activities run by Misstress Ysabeau Tiercelin. \nBarding petting zoo for those in interested in sewing “clothing “ for their horse. \nEvent prep- we are making up some book mark tokens. SUMMARY:Aethelmearc Holiday Shoot VI
DESCRIPTION:Additional notes on Wheelchair Accessibility: Entrance is very accessible; the range is not. The bathrooms are very small \nAethelmearc Holiday Shoot VI\nDecember 2\, 2023\, 9am-5pm\nRoute 157 Archery World\, 866 Sporer Rd\, Venus\, PA\, United States\, Pennsylvania \nArchers of the Sylvan Kingdom\, please come join us for a day of challenging indoor archery\, holiday fellowship\, and fabulous prizes! \nThe Shire of Hunter’s Home brings you the Æthelmearc Holiday Shoot\, at the ENORMOUS indoor archery range of Archery World . \nThere are over 80 3D targets at ranges out to 50 yards to be shot\, as well as a few surprises in store from your co-Autocrat and Marshal-in-Charge\, THL Alrekr Bergsson (David Bessler – bessler128@gmail.com) \nChristmas Cap Caper\nA company of capricious creatures have captured Claus’s collection of Christmas caps. Can a company of quick and canny commandos contain the chaos this caused? Clutch your quivers as we crack the case! This competition will be run throughout the day\, and scoring will be efficiency based (i.e.\, the less arrows fired to retrieve all the caps\, the better). \nCollecting Presents\nOne thing shared by most holidays of this season is the giving of gifts. Fret not! The field is strewn with presents in all shapes and sizes! Throughout the day\, your challenge is to collect as many of these gifts as possible\, by any means necessary. Which\, since we are archers\, means shooting them! While each present is worth 1 point per hit\, the rules for each present change (some are untimed with varying numbers of arrows\, some are timed with various time limits). \nHoliday Tournament\nIn the late afternoon\, the top 4 scorers for each of the all-day shoots will compete in a tournament celebrating holidays from throughout the year. Since an archer could be in the top 4 for both contests\, and because there could be ties for 4th place\, there is no predicting exactly how many people will be in this tournament\, so the exact structure and method of elimination will be determined on location. \nThere will be only a very small sideboard available. Please prepare a to bring a lunch with you. \nEvent Price: $10\nMember Discount Price: $5\nRange Cost (active archers only): $12\nMake checks payable to Shire of Hunter Home SCA PA\, Inc. \nIf you have any questions\, please contact the co-autocrat\, Thorfinnr Elsfiord (Tod Elford) thorfinnr.elsfiord@gmail.com\n814-720-9017

SUMMARY:Coppertree Twelfth Night
DESCRIPTION:Additional Notes on Alcohol Policy: Please bring NO alcohol. All alcohol must be purchased from the Legion Bar. \nPlease join the Shire of Coppertree for an evening of festivity and misrule\, as we mark the traditional end of the festive period with a Twelfth Night celebration! Our Feast of Fools will be a potluck dinner and party held at the American Legion Helmuth-Ingalls Post 232 in Franklin Springs\, NY\, on the evening of Friday\, January 19th. \nThe party starts at 6 PM and will continue until 10 PM. The Shire will be providing potluck food\, paper products\, and non-alcoholic drinks via a sign-up sheet located at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12E-z1xtMTVNHutNz2M2-qe7Fq9neh0t2O2-KgovtkB8/edit?usp=sharing \nDue to the potluck nature of the event\, we cannot guarantee that any of the food presented will meet anyone’s dietary or allergy restrictions. Ingredient cards will be provided on-site\, and will be accurate to the best of our abilities\, however our abilities are often questionable at best. The good news is that it’s a potluck\, so if you have dietary restrictions or allergies you are invited to bring something to share that you’re sure you can eat. \nBeer\, wine\, and spirits can be purchased at the Legion Bar on-site – this is NOT a BYOB party; all alcohol must be purchased from the Legion Bar. \nThe Event Autocrat is Baron Snorri skyti Bjarnarson (mka David Haldenwang\, hivemind@mvgc.net). The event is free\, but if you are attending you are expected to bring food to share. Please sign up at the above link. \nThe event address is: \nAmerican Legion Helmuth-Ingalls Post 232\n3627 NY-12B\nClinton\, NY 13323 \nIf you’re local and know your way around\, take 12B out of Clinton headed south\, past McDonalds\, and keep going about 3/4 of a mile. The Legion Hall is on the right. If you’re coming from out of town to join us\, take the NY Thruway I-90 to the Westmoreland exit 32 and take Route 233 South to the end. Turn left onto Route 12B and go a half mile\, the Legion Hall will be on the left. \nWe hope to see our friends there! Come celebrate with us!

SUMMARY:Region 5 January Fight/Rapier Practice for January
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Shire of Sterlynge Vayle \nRoyal Progress: \nNoble Populace\, \nI hope that your New Years was wonderful and you are greeting this with renewed vigor and excitement. The path of any martial skill like any other is always an ever changing\, ever adapting\, and ever growing experience we all share. From the more scholarly pursuits of Arts and Science\, to the Archer and Thrower\, to the Rapier and Heavy. As we enter the new year with fresh resolve we should begin now to look towards our biggest event of the year Pennsic. We should hone those skills that we have worked so hard to achieve that make Æthelmearc a known and intimidating force to contend with on all fields of battle. \nAs such\, we here in The Shire of Sterlynge Vayle have begun our prep work. And to that end on the 21st of this month at our local fight practice\, from 2pm to 6pm\, we will be hosting the first Muster of the year. This is not just a Heavy Muster\, this is a MUSTER. So regardless of your calling bring your gear\, enjoy our hospitality and for a couple hours work on your fighting\, fencing\, arts and science. We have class rooms available for the folks working on projects so they\, like those of us in the martial specialties\, can hone their skills\, get input or give advice to others. \nFighters and Fencers. Bring your gear\, let’s make the most of the time we have been afforded to work on this. \nNext Month another Muster will be announced by another Regional Commander. And so forth and so on\, and in the interim we should not let our weapons fall to disrepair. Whether it be our minds\, or our blades. \nTo quote a passage from a book\, “A Mind needs Books like a Sword needs a Whetstone.” \nA FB event will be made and posted soon\, but for now\, from 2pm to 6pm at: \nWest Windsor Baptist Church\, 166 N Rd\, Windsor\, NY 13865 \nI hope to see as many of you as can possibly make it\, let’s not waste these opportunities. \nDue to our sites policies in place\, we are not allowed to take a knee in the gymnasium due to our armor possibly marring and marking the floor. However\, if the weather is fair and warm enough for us we have a large field to work with outside as well. \nSemper Servus\,\nSyr Gwydeon ap Arden\nRegion 5 Co-Commander
