Date: Saturday, January 10, 2026
Time: Noon to 6:00 PM
Location: Fluvanna Community Church, 3363 Fluvanna Avenue, Jamestown, NY 14701
Sponsoring Group: The Shire of Heronter
Come join us in greeting the new year with joy and fellowship! The Shire of Heronter cordially invites you to “The Wassail of the Wise Heron,” our annual 12th Night celebration. It is a time to feast, make merry, and chase away the winter chill with the warmth of good company.
Please note that this is a dry site (no alcohol permitted). Our event will utilize the community center, kitchen, and connected restrooms, not the full church. Please be advised that while all activities will be held on one level, the site does not claim to be ADA accessible.

The Feast: A Shared Board
The heart of our celebration is a shared table. Our main dinner will be a grand potluck. We ask you to bring a dish to share, and you are welcome to bring a snack or appetizer to enjoy as we gather.
We realize times are tough, and if anyone is food insecure, we would still like them to join us! If you are comfortable doing so, please contact the event steward, and someone would be happy to bring an extra dish to represent you.
To help us balance the feast, please contact the event steward or add to the list on the Facebook page what you intend to bring for the potluck so we don’t have too many repeats!

The Gifts: An Exchange of Medieval Treasures
We will hold a gift exchange to share in the spirit of the season. Please bring one wrapped, gender-neutral gift, ideally suited for our Society recreations, with a value of $15-$20. Think of handmade items, useful goods, or period-inspired treasures. The order of selection will be determined by a draw.

The Revelry: An Evening of Joy
The day will be filled with activity and camaraderie.
· Dancing: We will have music for all to enjoy.
· Arts & Sciences Display: Bring your creations and works-in-progress to share and inspire.
· Medieval Photo Booth: Capture the memory with friends in our themed setting.
· Table Decoration Contest: Her Grace, Duchess Dorinda Courtenay, brings back this popular competition! There may be prizes for Most Festive, Most Historically Represented, or Best Display of Heraldry! Both round and rectangular tables are available. Please remember: no open flames are allowed at this venue. For your displays, please bring battery-operated candles.

This is a free event, open to all. Donations to help cover the site rental are gratefully accepted.
