Agincourt XV
28 October 2023
“This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be rememberèd—
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.”
~Shakespeare, Henry V
Nobles! Welcome Back!! The feast of St. Crispin is upon us and the Barony Marche of the Debatable Lands wishes you to celebrate with us at the Fifteenth Agincourt event!
Agincourt will be held at Camp Lutherlyn, 500 Lutherlyn Ln, Butler, PA 16001. The site will open at 9:00 a.m. Saturday 28 October 2023 and close at 9:00 p.m.
Agincourt returns after a one-year hiatus, and to celebrate its return, we are asking for a display of arms. Bring your banners, wear your heraldic clothing, arrive in your heraldic finery or bearing your arms on your shield! We will be displaying this in the outdoor pavilion where we will also be hosting court.
Heavy Weapons Combatants! Take the field and fight the battles as your ancestors did on this day. Noble combat shall rule the day until your arms ache from your weapons. What would Agincourt be without archery? Target archers get your bows! We have plans, just for you!
Archery
Lady Elinor Walden will be coordinating our Archery shoot that will be a French vs English competition shoot with a focus on period targets where those competing will pick the side they’re shooting for and would shoot a variety of targets for cumulative points.
Thrown Weapons Kingdom Champion Tournament
Lady Nea Kimball will be holding a tournament to decide the next Kingdom Thrown Weapons Champion.
Fencing – Lucky Coin 13 for the Tournament of Garnet and Steel
There will be a tournament to decide the recipient of coin 13 for the Tournament of Garnet and Steel! The tournament will be an English vs French tournament focusing on the works of George SIlver and Captain Peloquin. Fighters are encouraged to look up both manuals available for free on Wikitenauer –
George Silver – https://wiktenauer.com/wiki/
Captain Peloquin – https://wiktenauer.com/wiki/
Be prepared to explain their interpretation and which portions of the manuals they are going to present during the tournament.
The tournament format will be based on the numbers for the day.
After the fencing tournament, there will be a Cut and Thrust tournament later in the day.
Tavern Brawl
And never fear, we WILL be having our famous Tavern Brawl, please consider bringing a parrying item. In previous years, we’ve seen giant turkey legs, mugs etc. Be creative as there will be a prize for the best tavern themed parrying item!!
A Tourney at Agincourt
Sirs Guillaume le Noir du Bordeaux and Oliver Sutton will be holding a tournament for Heavy Weapons fighters.
A&S At Agincourt
THLady Lisabetta de Rossi presents two opportunities to show our King, Queen and the populace the talent and skill we are known to possess. There will be a populace vote for both A&S displays, and prizes presented at evening court.
First, please consider displaying any type of project you wish to flaunt, regardless of the state of completion!
Second, let us keep the largess stores full and varied as our King and Queen bestow favors across the land. In keeping with Agincourt, the theme is:
It’s a Parti Party! Create and present your best largess in at least two primary color tones. Is it checky? Is it chevron? Is it French? Is it English? We dont care! Just have fun!
