A Most Excellent Day in Blackstone Mountain
October 23 @ 9:00 am - October 24 @ 1:00 pm
Hosted By: Barony of Blackstone Mountain
Additional notes on Wheelchair Accessibility: All buildings have wheelchair accessible ramps, showers & bathrooms
Additional Notes on Alcohol Policy: All alcoholic beverages must be in period containers. This is a damp site. Please clean up after yourself. Remember the motto, leave the site cleaner than you found it.
Additional Notes on Pet Policy: No pets are allowed in any buildings. Only service animals are allowed in buildings with documentation.
Shelter – Assure your pet has adequate shelter for the varied weather conditions. Ample shade if it’s sunny, a dry place if it’s raining or wet, a warm place if it’s cold and fresh water despite the conditions.
Restraint – All pets must be leashed, in a kennel, or “tied out” at all times. This is for both your safety and your pets.
Waste – Pickup any solid waste your pet leaves. Not doing risks this becoming a non pet site.
Children – Not all animals are accustomed to children, individuals other than their owners, or large gatherings of people. You or your child should not approach an animal you are unfamiliar with, and then only with the owners permission and co-operation.
Bugs – Be aware fleas and ticks are already out in West Virginia. Please prepare your pet accordingly.
Your pets causing disruptive incidents will be treated like people causing disruption and be asked to leave.
Please join Baron Cunedda Kell and Baroness Alana Horsecroft as they begin their Most Excellent tenure as Baron and Baroness of the Barony of Blackstone Mountain. This day will be filled with remembering the past and looking forward to the future. To remember the past, we will remember and honor those within the Barony of Blackstone Mountain, whom we have lost, the Baronial members who have left such a legacy in our lands. Looking towards the future, the day will be filled with Baronial Championship battles to find that fine and skilled gentles who will defend our Barony for the upcoming year and the next 7 Pearls Tournament in the Barony of the Hael, August 2022.
Feast will be “bring your own”. Recipes will be available in hopes everyone will prepare the same foods for each remove. Everyone is encouraged to prepare your table for your family, group or household and enjoy the foods that you have brought with you. Dress in your finest and enjoy the Baronial Bardic Championship. Feast will also be a time of stories and songs dedicated and in memory to those we have lost.
With all that everyone has endured over the past couple years, the burning of the Wickerman will be held after dark. This is an opportunity and we encourage everyone to write down and burn with the Wickerman, the things in our lives we want to let go of or perhaps your hopes and dreams for the future.
Site opens at 9am Oct 23rd and closes Oct 24th at 1pm.
