We are still putting together details for this event: please come back in a little while for more information.
Please note the date change: It is on August 24th due to lack of availability on our usual date.
This year’s event will be held at the Wright’s Corners Fire Department at 4043 Lake Ave, Lockport NY 14094. Site opens at 9:00am and closes at 10:00pm. Your autocrat will be Lady Thalia Papillon (Vanessa Hayes, 36 Wayne Street, Depew, N.Y. 14043 (540) 649-4337 v_girl15 AT hotmail DOT com)
Activities will include:
Heavy and rapier combat.
Archery and Thrown Weapons.
An A&S competition and dancing.
Hagar‘s roadshow is a basic double elimination prize tournament: in order to participate you must buy in with a handmade SCA period item which will all be placed in a Viking rowing chest. The winner of the tournament will receive the chest and all it contains.
2nd heavy fighting tournament – Bear pit and transition to single elimination tourney for top 4 of bear pit.
Fencing will be a wounds retained bear pit. There might be a barrier battle, double elimination, if we get the barrier repaired, in time.
Good day, all! The autocrat is seeking performers and bards to entertain feasters at Summer’s End, and also at the Summer’s End Tavern!
The tavern will be open from 2:45 to 4:45 in a popcorn format (anyone who wants to perform may get up to do so) in a low light atmosphere. The populace is invited to bring banners, flags, and/or table decorations (no live candles please) to help create atmosphere. Also, feel free to bring tavern type snacks or non-alcoholic drinks to share. No need to sign up or arrange details beforehand, just show up! Banners and flags will need their own poles and stands if required. Putty is allowed to attach them to the walls if possible.
The format will be around a half hour of performances (so 5-6 performers with one piece each) for high table, and following that, we’ll have a corner of the hall reserved for performers to take up 1/2 hour slots throughout the rest of the feast. If we have a lot of bards wishing to perform, we may shrink it down to either performing at high table or for a half hour slot and not both. If interested, please message me, or send an email to r.glon (at) yahoo (dot) com Please include:
–persona name and pronunciation guide
–what kingdom, barony, shire you’re a part of, and pronunciation guide if necessary
–if doing a piece for high table, name and type of piece (looking to arrange the flow of moods in a semi-sensible way)
–if wanting to perform in the performance corner, a general theme of the pieces you intend to perform (also for arrangement purposes)
